Tomato and Grape Procurement and Marketing

Tomato and Grape Procurement and Marketing

SFPCL commenced its operations by facilitating the collective marketing of tomatoes and grapes produced by its member farmers. During the financial year 2014–15, the Company aggregated and marketed approximately 450 metric tonnes of tomatoes, which were supplied directly to institutional processors, including Capricon Food Products and Varun Agro.

By aggregating produce and establishing direct linkages with processors, SFPCL enabled improved price realization for its member farmers, resulting in an increase of approximately ₹10–15 per crate compared to prevailing open market prices. This model reduced reliance on intermediaries and improved efficiency in the marketing process.\n\nThe successful implementation of this initiative laid the foundation for the Company's collective marketing operations and strengthened its relationships with both farmers and institutional buyers. Building on this experience, SFPCL subsequently initiated pilot grape marketing programs, including expansion into new domestic markets such as Faridabad, as part of its strategy to diversify crop coverage and expand market reach.
